The band took part in the Spring Brass Festival competition in Blackpool on 11th May 2024. The competition is the qualifying series for the world famous British Open contest.
The band were drawn number 14 out of 17 bands which meant we played late afternoon in the Senior Trophy, playing Peter Graham’s ‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth’.
The band prepared really well for the performance over the weeks up to the contest and we were hopeful of a really good performance and we’re glad to say we pulled it off and produced a performance that we were really proud of.
Thankfully we were rewarded with a great result amongst really quality competition. The band were awarded 6th place and secured a place in the competition again next year.
A really great day for the band as we continue to build on each performance.
